Event description

Over the last 25 years, New Zealand-born comedian Tony Martin has had a crack at pretty much everything. He was a writer and performer on the cult TV comedies The D-Generation and The Late Show, and has made regular appearances on Kath & Kim and Thank God You're Here. He was one half of radio's Martin/Molloy, and the creator of the massively successful Get This radio show and podcast. He wrote and directed the movie Bad Eggs and the controversial unreleased mockumentary BoyTown Confidential. He has toured Australia with his stand-up comedy, shared the ARIA Award for Best Comedy Album a record four times, and his first book, Lolly Scramble, is now in its fourth printing.

He is also the mayor of SIZZLETOWN, the award-winning ‘late-night call-in podcast’, with Matt Dower on the ‘pots n pans’. All the callers and guests are played by Martin, via the elaborate editing and sound design of fellow ‘Get This’ veteran Dower. What starts as a fairly straightforward concept (with just three sound effects) becomes steadily more complex, with full-blown musical numbers, multi-caller forums and a talking cat.

Plus awesome support acts and hosted by David Bakker.
