Murray Bridge Rowing Club is hosting a cabaret in honor of The Cod's.
The Cods Cabaret is a celebration of the extraordinary achievements of a group of 'raggedy' rowers from the small river town of Murray Bridge who took on the worlds best rowing eight's, 100 hundred years ago at the 1924 Paris Olympics.Â
Master of Ceremonies: We are excited to have our triple Olympian, James McRae as our Master of Ceremonies for the evening.
Supper: Sumptuous traditional supper will be provided
Dance Music: Cabaret guests will be entertained by the captivating Murray Bridge City Band, encouraging everyone to to get up and dance the night away.
Full bar facilities will be available.Â
Memorabilia Display: The evening will feature a unique display of memorabilia, including blazers worn by Bill Sladden and coach Ted Higgs, an oar signed by the crew and a photographic display. Also exhibited, will be the Kings Cup won by The Cod's in 1920, 1922 and 1923 and the original small stuffed cod which was tied to the bow of the boat when they rowed.
