The Community Posy Project is a volunteer not-for-profit community activity to help create connection and begin to cure loneliness by bringing people together through the simple, powerful act of creating and sharing flowers.
It's a volunteer initiative that gives back in a couple of ways. Firstly by bringing together people to create posies of flowers. We do this once a month at the Flowers for Jane Langwarrin studio and once a month out in the community.
Participants make one posy for themselves as a reminder of connecting with other like minded souls. As well, they make one posy for us to give out to the community, creating connection after the activity.
Our mission is to combat disconnection and spread joy through the simple act of making and giving fresh flowers.
This payment is your contribution to the wholesale expences of the activity.
There are no refunds. If you can not make it, the group will use your flowers and we will deliver on your behalf.
NOTE: Flowers for Jane is located on a hobby farm, so expect uneaven ground and a few furry friends (including Roxy the Border Collie) to say hello.
Photos & Video will be taken at the event so please let Cassy know if you don't want to be in any of them.

Join Our Volunteer Sessions
When: 1-hour session monthly
Where: Flowers for Jane (near Frankston)
What to bring: Just yourself, a caring heart, and clean clear jam jars or glass jars.
Contribution: $15 (includes GST) per session to cover flowers, foliage and ribbon etc..
2. What Happens During a Session
Our sessions are designed to be warm, welcoming, and fun. When you arrive, you'll:
Enjoy tea, coffee, and light refreshments while socialising with fellow volunteers
Learn simple flower arranging techniques with Cassy in a relaxed, supportive environment
Write kind messages on gift cards to attach to the flowers
Create multiple small posy jars using fresh, seasonal flowers
Share stories, connect with neighbours, and be part of something meaningful
No experience is necessary—all skill levels are welcome!
Where the Posies Go
Our flower arrangements bring smiles to:
Retirement village residents
Nursing home residents
Anyone in our community we think may be experiencing loneliness and need a reminder that there are people out there that are thinking of them.
Please note that children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult as the property is a hobby farm with ponds, a dam, animals and our dog Roxy. The bathrooms are not wheelchair accessible. They are about 100 metres away from the studio over uneven ground and steps.

- Is this a floristry class?
No, this is not a floristry class or teaching workshop. However, you will get simple guidance on making posies for this activity.
- Do I have to register and pay for a family member, child or support worker.
You only need to pay for those making flower posies. If it is your child, family member or support worker, then you only need to register them, which has no fee.
- Can I take the flowers home.
You will make two posies during the session. One for you to take home and one for us to deliver out into the community to spead joy.
