COVID-19 has had an enormous impact on Australia's university sector, and the future of higher education remains to be written. Now more than ever is the time to ask the question: What is a good university, and what changes should we pursue over the coming years?

This symposium will comprise a panel discussion followed by Q&A and breakout sessions. Speakers and topics include

  1. Rebuilding Australia’s tertiary system; Professor Stephen Parker AO
  2. Rankings and organisational change; Professor Diane Gibson FASSA
  3. Regulatory systems and their consequences; Professor Valerie Braithwaite FASSA
  4. Sustainability and the future workforce; Professor Raewyn Connell FASSA

This symposium will be held as an interactive online event over Zoom. Registration is essential.

The themes of the symposium will be reflected upon in the annual Cunningham Lecture, to be presented in 2020 by Professor Raewyn Connell on 27 Oct. For more information, and to register for this lecture, visit the event page.
