FAQs

• How do I get tattooed on the day?

  Each artist is managing their bookings independently, we recommend doing your research in advance if there's someone you want to get tattooed by specifically they may take pre-bookings or may just do walk ups on the day!

  Most artists will be taking walk ups on the day, so good to get in early so you can walk around, have a look at what artists have to offer and sign up!

• Do i have to be 18+ to attend?

  The event is not 18+ to attend but you do need to be 18+ to get tattooed by artists there. It is illegal under Australian Law to tattoo anyone under the age of 18 even with parental consent.

  Children under 13 years can enter for free with a paying adult.

  Children 14-17 years old must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

  Due to the nature of the industry, there may be clients getting tattooed in intimate areas so parents are advised to bring children along at their own discretion.

• Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

  Yes, the expo is held at Town Square Pavilion in Melbourne Showgrounds which is a wheelchair accessible for the public.

• Is there an ATM on site?

  No, there is not an ATM on site. Artists & vendors may take card payments but we recommend getting cash out in advance as well.

• How do i get to the venue?

  The expo is held at Town Square Pavilion (Building 8) at Melbourne Showgrounds which has access via gate 5 for cars.

  Public Transport

  TRAM

  Take the Route 57 tram (West Maribyrnong to Elizabeth Street, City) and hop off at stop 33 (Melbourne Showgrounds).

  BUS

  Two bus routes can get you to Melbourne Showgrounds. Route 472 (Williamstown to Moonee Ponds) stops along Langs Road, and Route 404 (Footscray to Moonee Ponds) stops on the corner of Epsom and Ascot Vale Roads.

• Can i park at the venue?

  Yes! There is parking at the venue via Gate 5 for $25 a day or free street parking. Spots are limited to availability.

• Is there alcohol at the event?

  There is no alcohol on site, as much as you would probably prefer your artist not to be drinking on the job (while permanently marking you) we prefer the same of our clients!

• Is there food on site?

  Yes! We will have 2 food trucks running all weekend in the outdoor section.

• Is there seating areas?

  Yes! We will have outdoor undercover picnic tables for patrons to use.

• I'm booked in to get a tattoo, do i still need a ticket?

  Yes! Ticket entry grants you access to the event to be able to see your artist.

• How much are the tattoos?

  Each artist is responsible for their own pricing, on the day most artists will have their flash designs priced for you to look at when browsing or you can contact them in advance if you have your eye on something in particular!

• What aftercare do I need?

  Aftercare is so important to ensure your tattoo heals well and lasts as long as possible! Check out our aftercare page on our website for more info, we recommend the amazing products from The Aftercare Collective.
