Description
The Creative Design Academy is an exciting school holiday program that invites students to step into the world of graphic design, digital media, branding and creative entrepreneurship. Hosted at WeWork Edward Street, students will spend the day exploring how creative ideas can be transformed into professional designs, digital content and portfolio-ready projects.
Throughout the day, participants will take part in hands-on workshops and creative challenges covering graphic design, illustration, branding, content creation and visual storytelling. Students will experiment with digital design tools as they develop their own creative concepts, build a personal brand and create original work they can showcase in a creative portfolio.
Students will also hear from a guest speaker from Canva, who will share insights into Canva, his role within the company and the opportunities available for young people interested in design, technology and the creative industries. Students will discover how digital creators can showcase their skills, build an audience and even turn their creativity into future study, career or entrepreneurial opportunities.
The program is perfect for students in Years 6–10 who are interested in art, drawing, graphic design, branding, digital media, content creation, entrepreneurship or creative technology.

Time: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm | Drop-off from 8:30 am
Students should bring:
A fully charged laptop + charger for the design activities.
Morning tea, lunch and a water bottle.
A notebook and pen if they wish to take notes.

- Who Is This Program For?
This program is designed for students in Years 6–10 who are passionate about art, graphic design, digital media, branding, content creation, entrepreneurship or creative technology. No prior design experience is required—just curiosity, creativity and a willingness to explore new ideas!
- Where Is The Program Held?
The program is hosted at WeWork Edward Street, where students will step into an inspiring creative environment, hear from industry professionals, including a guest speaker from Canva and explore how creativity, design and technology come together in the real world.
- What Should I Bring?
Students should bring:
A fully charged laptop or iPad+ charger for the design activities.
Morning tea, lunch and a water bottle (unless otherwise advised).
A notebook and pen if they wish to take notes.
Students will have access to wifi at the venue.
- What Should I Wear?
Students are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing suitable for a hands-on day of creative workshops, design activities and collaborative projects.
- Will Food Be Provided?
No. Students are asked to bring their own morning tea, lunch and snacks for the day. However, small lollies may be handed out during the program as rewards.
- Do I Need Any Prior Knowledge Of Art?
Not at all! The program is designed for students of all experience levels. We'll provide all the tools, guidance and support needed throughout the day.
- Can Parents Stay During The Program?
To help students develop independence and fully immerse themselves in the experience, the program is designed as a student-only event. Parents and guardians are welcome to drop off and collect students at the designated times.
Students will be supervised by the BOP Industries team, who all have Working with Children checks.
- What If My Child Has Dietary Or Accessibility Requirements?
