The Cursed Cabaret

After selling out shows at the Anywhere Festival Moreton Bay, Shoggoth’s Old Peculiar and The Denizens of the Deep bring their unique cabaret style performance to Maleny. Joined by Brisbane’s Horror Blues behemoths, Shakes Fear and the Skeleton Gang, they’ll take you on an eerie expedition through strange Lovercraftian landscapes filled with dark, but jaunty songs and butoh inspired dance!

Seamlessly blending elements of folk, blues, gypsy jazz, world and rock with an unusual selection of instruments including xylophone, accordion, suitcase drum, lagerphone and guitars, while weaving a gothic narrative through their songs, the maniacal musicians of Shoggoth’s Old Peculiar have created their own unique sound – Genuine Turn of the Century Lovecraftian Horror Folk!

Rising from the depths of sunken R’lyeh, The Denizens of the Deep’s spooky shuffling, torturous twisting and devilish dancing will fill you with delight and despair

Immortal vagabond Shakes Fear and atrocious accomplices the Skeleton Gang are here to terrify you with tales of their time-hopping trials and tribulations. Including songs from their debut album ‘Find Me a Grave, Man’, inspired by the likes of Tom Waits, C.W. Stoneking and Pokey La-Farge, they’re guaranteed to rattle and shake you, right down to your bones.
