The Dance 2026

The Dance is back!

We had a ball in 2025 and are raring to get back on the dance floor with you all.

In response to your hearts’ desires, we have a bigger hall; a return of favourite jazz cats - The Scufflers; and an extra hour of good times, kicking on to midnight with DJ Butter Knife. 

For newcomers to The Dance, here’s what to expect:

·       Learn simple ballroom dances, led by our friendly dance guides

·       Live music by The Scufflers

·       Classy drinks at sparkling prices

·       Delectable supper – bring a small plate to share if you can

·       DJ Butter Knife set to finish off the night right

·       Dress glamour, dress chic, dress big bold and prancing - dress whatever makes you feel like dancing!

·       Doors at 7pm, dancing from 7:30pm

No prior dance knowledge is required, but if you’re keen to get into it early come along to one of our lessons in the lead up - details on the ticket purchase page.

Dance partners aplenty at the event and pre-event lessons, so don't hesitate to come with just yourself or friends.

Transport

Need help getting to the dance? A bus will run from Castlemaine with a pickup in Maldon.

Pick up times -

Castlemaine - Maldon - Baringhup Hall

6:30pm Castlemaine Railway Station

6:50pm Maldon Post Office

Baringhup Hall - Maldon - Castlemaine

11:00pm Baringhup Hall

12:00am Baringhup Hall

And finally - a free shuttle bus will be running to the Loddon House Holiday Park (Baringhup) from 11pm, so book yourself a stay and let’s settle in for the night!
