The DeLorean Project - Youth Innovation Showcase 2024

Event description

Showcase Expo from 5pm - 6.30pm. Come and see our DeLorean students' amazing creativity and problem solving skills in a jam packed student expo where teams will be sharing their DeLorean Journey with you as well as their prototypes, products and genius ideas.

Presentations and Keynote Speaker from 6.30pm - 7.30pm. We will be acknowledging a number of students who have really shined over the duration of the program and celebrating their hard work and achievements. There will be some pretty cool awards being handed out and the entire presentation event is MC'd by some of our own DeLorean students.

This year's Keynote Speaker is Kurt Jones, Founder and CEO of Co-Exist Australia. At 20 years old, Kurt leads this non profit organisation with a vision to inspire generations to co-exist with wildlife and wild places, creating communities around Australia where young people gather to clean beaches, plant trees, explore nature & educate the community on sustainability. Co-Exist was founded when Kurt was in year 11, now with 9 branches across the nation, Co-Exist is creating positive change for both the well being of people & planet. Kurt is also a Board Director of an independent school on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, a Board Director of Queensland Koala Crusaders, Co-Chair of the Landcare Australia Youth & Young Adult Advisory Committee. Earlier this year Kurt was named Queensland Young Achiever 2024 in the connecting communities category and also Sunshine Coast’s Young Citizen of the Year and we have the privilege of hearing him share his story and encourage our DeLorean students. Kurt believes in shaking up the status quo and loves to connect with people who care about making a positive difference in the world. He also believes that young people are full of untapped potential and cannot wait to participate in our 2024 DeLorean Project Youth Innovation Showcase.
