As Venus disappears from the dawn sky in early December, she descends behind the Sun, vanishing from view and entering the fertile dark. This phase in the Venus cycle is a mirror of our own descent into stillness and sacred unravelling.

A time of incubation. Of dreaming. Of listening for what can only be heard in the dark.

This evening, we follow her path into the underworld of the soul, where Inanna enters the final gate into the presence of the dark mother. We will be guided and held there by the ancient Sleeping Goddess of Malta, from her place deep within the ochre womb cave of the Hypogeum.

We enter the dream temple of the ancient ones.
A place of Oracular wisdom and visionary guidance.
A crossing between worlds.
A descent into timelessness.

Through sacred story, creative processes, a votive offering and imaginal journeying, we will cross the threshold and offer ourselves to Our Lady Under Earth, in her place of deep stillness between death and rebirth, dissolution and revelation.

This is not a place of seeking answers, but of deepening into the Earth and coming home to the body.

A place of profound presence, where silence and surrender, darkness and dreaming, open our visionary centers.

We tune into an older language, one not so much made of words, but of the senses, cycles, and memory.

We seek what our foremothers once knew in bone and breath,
how to draw these mysteries forward, to be lived and embodied.

Jacqui Bushell has been dancing with the mythic imagination for much of her life, through her love of the archetypal wisdom held in fairy tales and her work as a spiritual herbalist, listening for the voices and stories in plans, rocks and landscape. She is passionate about encouraging others to explore their own mythology at the borderlands of psyche, body, culture and land. She has been facilitating women’s circles, ceremonies, retreats, workshops and courses in Australia and internationally for 30 years.

Jacqui guides people in awakening their creative soul through connecting with the mysteries of the earth and their own sacred nature. She weaves together plant spirit alchemy, energetic healing, embodiment practices, storytelling, journey work and earth connection to inspire transformational shifts in the way people see themselves and their world. Her work is always empowering and experiential, inviting you to come home to a deep sense of belonging and kinship with nature.
