Description

Join us for the inaugural Drill Hall Gallery Art Book Exchange!

Are you ready to pass on an art book you've loved? Have too many exhibition catalogues? No longer using a particular reference material? Craving some new inspiration?

Bring your art books from home to swap in exchange for exciting art reads and visual material old and new! Find out what books other artists, writers, curators, art and book lovers are enjoying and take home a few to delight in!

Book condition:

Books must be of reasonable condition - no missing pages, cover must be intact etc.

What kind of art books can I bring to swap?
Please bring along books with a visual arts focus including:

  • Exhibition catalogues

  • Artist monographs

  • Technical / instructional art books

  • Art theory

  • Art history

How many books can I bring?
Bring between one and five books. Don't have any art books yet? Join us anyway - we will bring a few extras to bridge the gap.

How will the book swap work?

  1. When you arrive you will receive one library card per book that you've brought to swap

  2. Write your name (or anon), the title of the book, author and publication year, along with a short review. These will remain as a bookmark for the next person to enjoy your book

  3. When you are ready place your books on the swapping tables then enjoy a refreshment while viewing SoAD gallery's exhibition Shifting Space

  4. At 6pm the exchange begins - you are free to browse and select a book/books to take home

Any books unclaimed at the end of the night will be offered to SoAD students, or donated to Lifeline Bookfair.

Tickets: Registration is free but should you wish, there is an option to donate to the Drill Hall Gallery when you choose your ticket.

If you require accessibility accommodations or a visitor Personal Emergency Evacuation plan please contact friends.dhg@anu.edu.au
