Event Description 

We are joined by special international guest Lisa Suennen, CEO, Venture Valkyrie, based in California, who will deliver a comprehensive workshop on surviving due diligence in digital health. 

Firstly, Lisa will step us through the evolution of digital health over the years and what the digital health market currently looks like in 2024, along with the challenges of growth within market. 

Followed by a world-class presentation on due diligence in digital health for innovators, including the crucial things to consider when evaluating risk and opportunity for your product, and the steps you must take to ensure effective due diligence.

Lisa's Bio 

Lisa leads Venture Valkyrie, LLC, her personal advisory firm, as well as her other various advising, writing and speaking activities.

As of January 2024, Lisa leads American Heart Association Ventures as Managing Partner. AHA Ventures has multiple programs for double bottom-line impact investing across the healthcare continuum. The current programs include Cardeation and two Social Impact Funds, with more to come.

Lisa is also on faculty at the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business, where she has taught an annual semester-long class on venture capital and innovation for the last 14 years.

Lisa is an National Advisor to professional services firm Manatt, Phelps & Phillips and on the advisory boards of several young companies and a few venture funds, and has served on numerous private company, public company and not-for-profit boards of directors throughout my career.

She currently chairs the Scientific Advisory Board of the NASA Translational Research Institute and the International Investment Advisory Committee (IIAC) of ANDHealth Limited, a digital health investment initiative funded by the Australian and Victorian governments, amongst several other emerging healthcare companies.

Lisa is also founder of CSweetener, a not-for-profit organization that matches rising women leaders in healthcare with luminaries that guide their careers during year-long virtual mentorships.

  • WACHCI workshops are free to WA Digital and Digitally Enabled Medical Technology Companies thanks to the support of the WA Life Sciences Innovation Hub. 
  • All participating companies will be required to participate in post-workshop surveys as a condition of registration. Companies which do not complete post-workshop surveys may be required to pay a registration fee for any future workshops. 
  • Numbers are strictly limited with only 30 seats available at each workshop. 
  • ANDHealth reserves the right to allocate limited availability to maximise the number of companies that will benefit from the program.
