The Electric Car - Why Now?
Event description
The ‘why now?’ factors driving the rapid uptake of electric vehicles are multi-dimensional.  It is a story of technology convergence, of the displacement of fossil-fuel commodities, of efficiency over gross waste and pollution, of connected digital systems, and mostly a story of good economics.  In many ways the electric car is as much an artefact of these undercurrents as it is a primary innovation.  This presentation will touch on these dynamics showing how they are forming broader synergistic energy ecosystems, wherein efficient all-electric transport and lifestyles are becoming the best choice for increasing number of people, businesses and industries.
John Murray describes himself as a ‘reformed petrol head’.  But having owned electric cars exclusively since 2015 he now has real trust in the technology, appreciates the fantastic ownership and driving experiences and realizes how synergistically electric cars can integrate into a broader quality of life.  With a teaching background, John has always been enthused to share understandings and presented on these matters across numerous public forums and courses over the past 8 years. Â
The event includes morning tea for a chat with like-minded folk interested in conservation and sustainability.
