Event description

Welcome to The [X] Challenge 2026!

Professional development and peer exchange are core elements of the work Future Anything do. We offer a range of professional learning events as part of The [X] Challenge and encourage every Challenge teacher (new or returning), to attend one of these workshops.

Together, we'll unpack the all-important program logistics and explore the key pedagogical approaches that underpin the program. These PDs are also a great opportunity to network and collaborate with colleagues, hear and share best practice and to get set up for The [X] Challenge success.

Challenge educators that can't make it to one of our flagship professional learning experiences in person (in Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne & Brisbane - click here for details) can choose to join one of our five short online workshops instead.

This event is open exclusively to The [X] Challenge educators. If you are not registered for The [X] Challenge but would like to attend this session, please email us at hello@futureanything.com.

The [X] Challenge 2026 Online Program:

If you're new to The [X] Challenge, we strongly recommend you join for the whole workshop. If you're returning to the program or just want a refresher on one element of the program, you can just drop in for the part that interests you!

  • Part 1: What is The [X] Challenge? (starts 9am AEST for morning workshops / 12 noon AEST for afternoon workshops)

    • This session provides a general overview of The [X] Challenge including program timeline and key dates, impact measurement, how to access the curriculum, and where to find help.

  • Part 2: The Future Anything Odyssey & Creativity/Ideation/Prototyping (starts 10am AEST / 1pm AEST)

    • This session digs into the 'how' of taking students from problem to solution, unpacking flagship activities, and reveals tips and tricks to building creative confidence in your classroom.

  • Part 3: Curriculum Alignment & Assessment + Workshop Wrap (starts 11am AEST / 2pm AEST)

    • This session supports teaching teams to map their [X] Challenge curriculum delivery to their school context, and calendar, and design and develop curriculum aligned assessment instruments.

We know securing release time can be challenging but we strongly encourage you to attend if you possibly can. We promise every event, whether online or in person, will be fun, interactive and, most of all, practical.

In the (unlikely) circumstance you need a little encouragement to attend, check out some testimonials from recent Future Anything Teacher PD Workshop participants:

“The Future Anything workshop reinvigorated my love of teaching! What a day.” Teacher, Catherine McAuley College Mackay

“So many tools in just 60 mins to take away and apply in my work (some things going straight into an educator playbook!)" Teacher, Springfield Central SHS QLD

“This was an inspirational educational adventure, exploring ourselves in the broader educational and real world contexts.” Teacher, Prince of Peace Lutheran College
