Event description
The Oberon Redfin Roundup is a fishing competition for all ages and run as part of the
Annual Oberon Outdoor Festival.
We welcome anglers of all ages and skill levels to Lake Oberon.
The event will have an array of prizes for largest catch, biggest bag, age categories, lucky door prizes, and more.
All ages event.
Free camping is available onsite at the Reef Reserve - not bookable.
Camping available at the showground $20 per night with hot showers.

RULES & REGULATIONS
OBERON REDFIN ROUND-UP
In consideration and as a condition of my entry into the competition, I, my heirs, executors and administrators agree to waive all and any claim, right or cause of action which I or they may have against the organisers of the Oberon Redfin Round-Up, or its servants, agents and assigns for or arising out of my death, injury, damage, or loss of any kind (including equipment) which I may suffer or sustain in the course of or consequent upon my entry or participation in the competition.
Competition is to be run over two days at Lake Oberon, Reef Reserve, Oberon NSW.
REGISTRATION FEES: All competitors will be $10.00 (Senior & Junior 14 years & under)
All competitors that sign up for the Oberon Redfin Round-Up are bound by the following terms and conditions:
1. Competitors must be registered before a fish can be entered into the competition.
2. Once the registration fee has been paid, no refunds will be given to entrants. It is the entrant's responsibility to attend over the weekend once registration has been paid.
3. Registrations will be done via a link online through Humanitix on our Facebook page Oberon Redfin Round-Up
4. Fishing will be held at Lake Oberon, reef Reserve, Oberon NSW. Fishing times will be from 7.00am to 5.00pm, on Saturday 30th November 2024 and 7.00am to 11.30am on Sunday the 1st of December 2024. Presentation of prizes will commence at 12.30pm Sunday 1st December 2024. Fishing will be through sun or rain except for lightning.
5. There will be several categories including biggest bag both junior and senior, biggest redfin 1st, 2nd & third in both junior and senior and biggest three redfin total length i.e (250mm, 225mm, 260mm = 765mm) both junior and senior.
6. All teams must finish in Lake Oberon. NO EXCEPTIONS! All fish must be caught within the confines of the stated area.
7. The boat ramp and surrounding foreshore between the two farm fences is not to be used for angling. This area is for launching of unpowered boats and kayaks ONLY. An exclusion zone between the dam wall and the yellow buoys is to be maintained. Yellow buoys are located approximately 150m from the dam wall and are not to be passed by any watercraft.
8. When measuring your catch and release fish (trout) the head of the fish must line up at “zero” on your brag mat and the photo must be clear if registering a fish for a prized. All trout caught must comply with the fishing rules and regulations as required by NSW fisheries. The photo must be clear ad taken to the marshalling area at the completion of fishing each day.
9. Any competitor caught illegally fishing or cheating will be automatically disqualified, and entry fees forfeited. Participants can have no more than two fishing rods each.
10. Anglers under the age of 16 must be always accompanied by a registered adult.
11. No anglers are to be under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol while competing. Legally required blood alcohol levels must be adhered to.
12. Major prize will be in the form of a lucky draw from all the registration forms. The winner MUST be present at the time of the draw and does not have to have caught a fish.
13. If there are categories with no lengths registered that category will be awarded in the form of a lucky draw.
14. If any fish are tied on the same length a count back on time will apply and the first fish being registered will win.
15. All anglers and boats must comply with the NSW Waterways Authority rules and regulations.
16. All safety requirements should be adhered to, PFD (personal flotation device) are to be always worn whilst on any watercraft as Lake Oberon is classed as alpine waters.
17. Anglers must respect “ELECTRIC MOTOR ONLY” use of Lake Oberon and “No go zones”
18. In the case of an emergency, entrants must contact the local fire, ambulance, or police services on “000”. Medical emergencies can contact/visit Oberon Hospital located on North Street, Oberon 02 6336 7200
19. If you experience and trouble on the water, contact Richard on 0487 903 496 and we will assist where possible.
20. We recommend all boats must have current insurance to be used in the competition. This is not mandatory; however, the event organisers, servants or partners will not be held responsible for any damage that occurs during the competition.
21. A CURRENT FISHING LICENSE MUST BE HELD AND MUST BE PRODUCED IF ASKED
