I fell from a rooftop when I was four. The doctors told my family I would never walk again.

I am not going to tell you that story in this session. I am going to hand you the structure I built out of it, because that structure is the reason I can stand on a stage at all, and it is the reason you can build a talk out of whatever has happened to you.

Join me for 45 minutes, live over Zoom, and I will walk you through the five beats behind every keynote I deliver. Cultural awareness, the labels other people put on us, social purpose, mental health and self care, and the work of finding what you are actually here to do.

These are the same five beats under every talk I give, whether I am in front of a year eleven cohort, a leadership team or a festival crowd. The topic changes. The beats do not.

What we will work through

This is a working session rather than a lecture. You will write one line for each beat while I talk, and you will leave with a talk skeleton in your own words instead of a page of notes.

• The cold open, and how to make a room go quiet before you have said much at all.

• The stake, and why telling it small is harder and lands better than telling it big.

• The label, and the moment you noticed what other people had decided about you.

• The turn, and why a thousand small decisions beat one dramatic moment.

• The send, and why one ask works and three asks do nothing.

Who this is for

Come as you are. If you have spoken before, you are welcome. If you have never stood in front of a room, you are just as welcome. So are the quiet ones with something worth saying and no idea where to start.

Bring something to write with. Pen and paper if you can, because the phone is where good lines go to die.

Tickets are $499 and there are limited seats, because I answer questions properly at the end and I want the room small enough to do that well.
