If summer had a soundtrack in Cork, there's a very good chance it would sound a lot like The Fogues.

As part of our 40th Anniversary Celebrations, we are delighted to welcome one of Cork's most loved live acts to Whitechurch Community Centre for what promises to be a spectacular evening of music, entertainment and community spirit on Friday 21st August.

Taking to a specially constructed open-air stage, The Fogues will bring their legendary energy, infectious tunes and unforgettable live performance to Whitechurch for one very special night under the summer sky.

And that's not all.

We will also be joined by local talents Lainey Sands and Jack Kelleher!

There is something magical about live music outdoors. The sun begins to set, the lights come on, families gather, friends reconnect and before long the entire crowd is singing along to songs they didn't even realise they knew all the words to.

That's exactly the atmosphere we're planning to create.

Whether you've seen The Fogues dozens of times or this will be your first opportunity to experience them live, you're in for a treat. Their reputation for getting audiences on their feet is well earned. In fact, comfortable footwear is highly recommended because sitting still for the entire evening may prove impossible.

The event is designed to be a genuine community celebration and a night that everyone can enjoy.

To help create a welcoming atmosphere for all ages, we're focusing on what matters most: great music, great food and great company.

A variety of food stalls will be available throughout the evening, serving everything from tasty treats and snacks to crowd favourites guaranteed to satisfy every appetite. Whether you're arriving straight from work, bringing the family out for an evening together or meeting up with friends before the music starts, there will be plenty of options to keep everyone fuelled for the night ahead.

Parents can relax knowing that this is a family-friendly event where teenagers, parents and grandparents can all enjoy the same fantastic atmosphere together.

After all, where else can three generations stand side by side arguing over who knows the lyrics best?

The gates will open at 6:30pm, giving everyone plenty of time to arrive, grab some food, find the perfect viewing spot and soak up the atmosphere before the entertainment begins.

As the evening unfolds, the open-air venue will come alive with music, laughter and the kind of community spirit that has been at the heart of Whitechurch for generations.

For forty years, Whitechurch Community Centre has brought people together to celebrate, support one another and create lasting memories. This concert continues that tradition and promises to be one of the highlights of our anniversary year.

There will be no muddy fields stretching to the horizon, no need for camping equipment and no three-hour search for your car afterwards. Just a fantastic summer evening of live music right here in the heart of Whitechurch.

Of course, events like this don't happen every day.

When people look back on the WWCA's 40th Anniversary celebrations, this is certain to be one of the nights they remember. The music, the atmosphere, the crowd and the unique experience of seeing one of Ireland's favourite bands perform live in such a special local setting will make for memories that last long after the final encore.

Please note that entry is strictly for ticket holders only.

Once tickets are gone, they're gone, and nobody wants to spend the following day hearing stories about what a brilliant night it was while wishing they had booked sooner.

So gather your family, organise your friends, bring your neighbours and make a date for Friday 21st August.

Join us for an unforgettable evening with The Fogues, Lainey and Jack, fantastic food and a wonderful community atmosphere as we continue celebrating 40 years of Whitechurch Community Association.

We'll see you under the summer sky.
