The Forest Within

Hello beautiful,

There is something about being among the trees that invites me to exhale. The scent of the earth, the rustle of leaves, the feeling of being held by Mumma Gaia.

It is this feeling I wish to share with you.

On Thursday 19 November, I’m opening my Perth home to just eight women for an intimate Sister Circle inspired by Shinrin-yoku - the Japanese practice of forest bathing.

An evening to soften, breathe and reconnect with yourself, Mumma Gaia and the forest, held in the company of fellow sisters.

This is an indoor gathering, with the forest as our inspiration. Through botanical aromas, rhythmic breathing, meditation and sacred sound, we’ll create a space to slow down and listen inward.

During our evening together, we will:

• Explore how the body responds to time in the forest, with a glimpse into the physiological responses associated with forest bathing.

• Practise gentle, rhythmic breathing to encourage relaxation, exploring the role of the parasympathetic nervous system; our body’s rest-and-digest response.

• Create a simple aromatic anchor with essential oils, carrying the memory of this stillness into everyday life.

• Settle into a guided meditation and sacred sound journey, with time to rest and receive.

My wish is that you leave with a sense of connection and simple practices you can return to throughout your days. A breath. An aroma. A moment that brings you home to yourself.

About your host

I’m Vanessa Jean, an international retreat facilitator, meditation guide, sound practitioner and aromatherapist. For more than 30 years, my work has woven together a love of plants, sound, nourishment and spiritual connection. It would be a joy to welcome you into my home and share this circle with you.
