The Forge play 70s & 80s songs + originals at The Playhouse
Event description
The Forge are a seven piece Golden Bay band who play mostly 70s and 80s dance songs, plus some soul stirring and rather dancey originals.
With decades of music between them, they love rocking out a classic Fleetwood song or John Farnham anthem one moment, while throwing in a dancey original about clean water or the black huia minutes later.
They are led by singer/songwriter Charlotte Squire who has two albums out, has played all over New Zealand and has had radio play for some of her songs.
Also bringing incredible talent and experience to The Forge are: Brian Smith on lead guitar, Mark Stillwell on sax and flute, Richard Gall on drums, Cath Tucker on Harmonies, Flyde on bass and Beryl on keys and percussion.
The Forge bring passion for music, humour and awesome rhythm to their music. They love getting people dancing (and whooping, that’s always good).
“Local Golden Bay band The Forge deliver heartfelt originals and solid versions of a varied mix of covers. Great to watch, a pleasure to hear and hard not to dance to”.
