Your favourite Townsville swap community is going indoors!
The Homemaker’s Society Townsville is bringing you an afternoon of mini handmade swaps at Composure Studio in Mysterton. Think smaller groups, air conditioning, good company and a whole lot of handmade goodness.
After the incredible success of our previous events, we’re keeping the same magic but making things a little more intimate, with just 12 guests per session.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Bring 6 handmade items and leave with 6 beautiful creations from other members of our community.
Think freshly baked sourdough, beautifully decorated cookies, homemade jams and preserves, hand-poured candles, embroidered linens, handmade ceramics, propagated plants in pretty pots, handcrafted jewellery, original artwork, botanical creations and all the wonderful little things people dream up and make themselves.
Each session runs for approximately 30 minutes, with 6 rounds of swapping. Everyone contributes one item per round, ensuring each guest leaves with 6 different handmade treasures.
WANT TO SWAP MORE THAN ONCE?
You’re more than welcome to join multiple sessions! Just remember that each session requires its own set of 6 handmade items.
Joining 2 sessions? Bring 12 items.
Joining 3 sessions? Bring 18 items.
The more you swap, the more handmade treasures you get to take home!

With only 12 guest spots available per session, bookings are essential. Please only register for sessions you’re able to attend, so everyone has a fair chance to join in.

FAQs
- Can I attend more than one session?
Absolutely! You're welcome to book as many sessions as you'd like. Just remember you'll need 6 new handmade items for each session you attend.
- Do all 6 items need to be the same?
Not at all! You can bring 6 identical creations, 6 completely different items or a mixture of both.
- What counts as handmade?
Handmade, homemade or homegrown items are all welcome! This includes anything you’ve personally baked, cooked, crafted, sewn, painted, grown or created.
You’re welcome to use store-bought ingredients, materials and supplies, as long as you’ve put your own time, effort and creativity into making the finished product.
We encourage items that have been personally created rather than simply purchased, assembled from ready-made products or mass-produced. The idea is to celebrate the creativity, care and personal touches that make handmade items so special!
- Can I attend if I've never been before?
Of course! New faces are always welcome. We'll explain how everything works before swapping begins.
- What happens if I can no longer attend?
Please cancel your booking as soon as possible so someone else has the opportunity to join.
- Can I bring a friend?
Absolutely, but they'll need their own booking and 6 handmade items to participate.
