The workshop will be delivered via Zoom over two 150-minute sessions. You will need to be available to attend both sessions.

Building greater sustainability for arts organisations and artists


Creative Partnerships Australia assists arts organisations and artists attract and maintain support from donors and business, diversifying their sources of revenue. In late 2020, VIC State Manager Steven Richardson will offer a day course titled, The Fundamentals of Arts Fundraising, to regional arts organisations and artists in partnership with Regional Arts VIC. The course will explore how regionally situated arts companies, community arts groups and artists can development new support for their activities through engagement with the private sector.

The Fundamentals of Arts Fundraising

The course will provide a complete overview of private sector revenue opportunities appropriate for regional organisations and artists. It will outline national trends, differences between sponsorship and philanthropy, how to be fundraising ready, the theory and practice of sponsorship and philanthropy including the latest strategies, including crowdfunding, donor circles and trusts & foundations. The course will also explain how to find, retain and build relationships toVICrds long term support using best practice steVICrdship. The course will explain the advantages and opportunities provided by the Australian Cultural Fund, how to use it, as well as outline matched funding program provided by Creative Partnerships Australia.

Registrations for our online Fundamentals of Arts Fundraising workshop are now open to organisations and individuals in Ballarat and Central Midlands.

This workshop is perfect for:
• Arts professionals, executive staff and/or leadership teams, and board members who VICnt to learn the basics of arts fundraising, philanthropy and sponsorship;
• Arts professionals, executive staff and/or leadership teams, and board members with some fundraising experience and knowledge;
• Leaders and board members of regional arts organisations and projects in and around Ballarat and Central Midlands; or
• Individual artists in and around Ballarat and Central Midlands.
