Jake Duczynski (He/Him)
Jake Duczynski is a proud Gomeroi and Mandandanji writer and director committed to First Nations representation on-screen and fortifying Indigenous voices in the Australian animation industry. In 2021, he co-founded Studio Gilay, co-wrote and directed the groundbreaking series COOKED, and directed dream sequences in Netflix's BACK TO THE OUTBACK.
Jake co-directed the animated documentary UNLOCKED (2022) and collaborated with Lisa Reihana on GROUNDLOOP for the Sydney Modern Gallery. In 2024, he directed ABC’s Ninganah Lullaby. His acclaimed work has been featured on the Sydney Opera House, AGNSW, MCA, ABC, SBS/NITV, and Netflix.
Steffie Yee 余淑婷 (She/Her)
Steffie Yee 余淑婷 is an animation director and illustrator, whose work weaves together digital and mixed-media processes involving stop-motion, video, and 2D animation. Steffie’s work has appeared in many forms for music videos, film, TV, advertising, public art, and live visual installation for events. Commercial clients Steffie has worked with include the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), Warner Music, PinkPantheress, Sam Smith, Justin Bieber, Chinatown Sydney, and more.
In her personal art practice, Steffie launched her first solo exhibition ‘Chinese Restaurant Playground’ at Footscray Community Arts in June 2024. The exhibition is a celebration of childhood play, imagination, and finding joy within the frenetic settings of her parents’ Chinese restaurant in regional NSW.
