Geoscientist Michael Freeman will delivered a fascinating lecture on the story of "The geology and landforms of the Leeuwin-Naturaliste ridge and its relationships to plate tectonics, India and the Perth Basin volcanics" .Â
Mike was a Project Manager with The Geological Survey of Western Australia and his work was much revolving about protecting mineral and construction material deposits from conflicting land uses. He developed the State’s register of geoheritage that is to try to ensure important geological features of the State are protected for future generations.
He recently has a special interest in the John Forrest National Park Railway Reserve Heritage GeotrailÂ
His aim in retirement is to enthuse non-geologists in the Southwest  in geological history and features.
