Join us for a round-table discussion on the Italian diaspora in Australia, and the many ways in which Italian identity is still very much present across different generations. This broad discussion will cover inter-generational identity and Italian-ness, the Italian diaspora, literature, and the question of ageing among the Italo-Australian community.
The event is organised by the Department of Italian Studies (UWA), in collaboration with the WA Comites, the Dante Alighieri Society and the Italian Consulate in Perth, on the occasion of the annual celebration of the “Giorno del sacrificio del lavoro italiano nel mondo” (Day of Sacrifice of Italian Labour Abroad).
The event is free and it is held in English. All members of the Western Australian public are welcomed.
