The Go Twos Kurrawarra CD Launch

Join The Go Twos and their special guests for an afternoon of beautiful music, heartfelt memories and celebration as they play the album Kurrawarra — honouring Nigel Lever, the music he helped create and the enduring power of love, friendship and song.

Meet The Go Twos

Rosie McDonald — Vocals, Guitar, Irish Bouzouki & Bodhrán

A compelling singer, songwriter and guitarist, Rosie brings more than 25 years of experience in folk and roots music to The Go Twos. Her rich alto voice breathes life into songs and stories, whether drawn from her own songwriting or the traditions she holds dear.

Her distinctive guitar style moves between driving rhythms, alternate tunings and intricate fingerpicking, complemented by Irish bouzouki and bodhrán. Rosie's performances combine heartfelt storytelling with an infectious passion for the music.

Ann Palumbo — Double Bass, Mandolin & Vocals

A versatile multi-instrumentalist, composer and singer-songwriter, Ann brings an impressive breadth of musical experience and creativity to The Go Twos.

Equally at home across diverse genres, her musicianship adds depth, colour and character to the band's sound.

Among her recent achievements is composing an original score for the centenary screening of Buster Keaton's silent film The General at Mount Vic Flicks. Ann also produced, conducted and performed the score with the Flicksters band, demonstrating her remarkable musical versatility.

Quentin Fraser — Acoustic & Electric Guitars, Dobro

A highly regarded multi-instrumentalist, Quentin is an in-demand musician whose talents span bluegrass, folk, country, jazz and rock.

Quentin and Nigel shared more than 40 years of musical collaboration, creating an enduring musical connection founded on friendship, experience and a shared passion for their craft.

Today, Quentin brings that history and musical understanding to The Go Twos, enriching the band's sound while helping carry forward the musical legacy he shared with Nigel.

Special guest artists

Marcus Holden — Fiddle & Mandolin

A musician with many strings to his bow, Marcus Holden is an accomplished soloist, composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist whose remarkable talents have made him a respected figure across the Australian music scene.

For this special performance, Marcus joins The Go Twos on fiddle and mandolin, bringing his distinctive musicianship to the tunes Nigel played so brilliantly.

While no one could ever replace Nigel, Marcus will honour his musical contribution with warmth, sensitivity and an artistry all his own.

Clíona Molins — Celtic Harp will open the show

Sydney-based harpist, composer and teacher Clíona Molins brings a rich and diverse musical background to her performances. Classically trained in both Irish and concert harp at Dublin's Royal Irish Academy of Music, her music is deeply rooted in the Irish harp tradition while drawing inspiration from the rhythms and musical cultures of South America and Africa.

An accomplished performer and composer, Clíona has a particular passion for bringing overlooked histories to life through music. Her works include Courageous Girl, and Parramatta Female Factory Song Suite, co-written with Rosie McDonald. Cliona has collaborated recently with Shakuhachi flute master Riley Lee and handpan player Baran Yildiz. Clíona brings her distinctive musical sensitivity and artistry to this special performance.

A Celebration of Music, Love and Legacy

Born from the musical partnership of Rosie McDonald and Nigel Lever, The Go Twos grew into a dynamic four-piece with the addition of longtime friends, bandmates and trusted musical collaborators Ann Palumbo and Quentin Fraser. Together, they captivated audiences at festivals and performances throughout 2024 and 2025, weaving their diverse musical influences into a sound uniquely their own.

At the heart of their story is Kurrawarra, an album lovingly crafted by Rosie and Nigel through life's many joys, challenges and unexpected turns. Shaped and refined through performances as a duo, the songs were brought to life with the support of a small but remarkable team of musicians and collaborators who helped capture the magic of their shared musical vision.

Tragically, Kurrawarra would become Rosie and Nigel's first and final album together. Nigel passed away suddenly in December 2025, leaving behind an extraordinary musical legacy and a profound absence in the lives of those who knew and loved him.

Three singles from Kurrawarra were released in 2025, with the full album originally scheduled for release in early 2026. Nigel poured countless hours of love and dedication into bringing their shared musical vision to life, from planning and production to artwork, CD design and digital distribution, all while supporting Rosie in countless ways.

Following Nigel's passing, the album's release took on an even deeper significance. Now, one year later, it is Rosie's heartfelt wish to officially release Kurrawarra in Nigel's home city in December 2026, marking the first anniversary of his passing.

More than an album launch, this special concert is a celebration of their musical partnership, the love and creativity they shared, and the enduring legacy of the music they made together.

Drawing from Celtic, folk, bluegrass and roots traditions, Rosie and Nigel's music reflects a deep creative connection, bringing together their influences in a distinctive and deeply expressive style.

With the continued friendship and musicianship of Ann and Quentin, The Go Twos have found a way forward in 2026, carrying the music and Nigel's spirit into a new chapter. Their performances remain rich with warmth, storytelling and musical interplay, honouring the past while embracing the joy of creating music together. Great friends Cliona Molins and Marcus Holden will contribute to the make this is a very special event ,
