Thu, 12 Dec, 6pm - 8pm NZDT

Event description

The cruise ship industry has become an hot topic in Aotearoa lately, with cruise advocates highlighting the perceived economic benefits, while environmental campaigners lament the damage the cruise industry does to the natural world.

We invite you to attend the great cruise debate this December 12th 6pm at the Pioneer Hall, Port Chalmers. There will be climate protesters and cruise industry tourism operators, each making their case on the moot:

"In order for humanity to survive, the cruise industry must die"

A deliberately provocative statement aiming to cut to the core of the issues and provide ample opportunity for each side to make their case!

We will provide refreshments. The debate will last about 40 minutes, then we will open the floor to questions for both sides and our panel.
