The Guitar c. 1800 - Josinaldo Costa
Event description
At the turn of the 19th century, the guitar was undergoing a critical transformation: from its five-course baroque iteration to its six-string romantic form. These changes were accompanied by a process of transculturation, in which a fusion and cross-fertilisation of national styles brought about a brilliant new repertoire.
In this lunchtime concert, Josinaldo Costa presents a selection of representative music for the baroque and romantic guitars with a focus on Italian and Spanish guitarists.
