The Heard
Event description
IMPORTANT NEWS!! The Heard is now a heart-pumping Hastings Street concert coming to you live from Noosa! Due to the wet weather, we have had to make a dramatic venue change - to shelter! We will take our outdoor, grass roots, live original music concert event..... to the centre of Noosa, at the much, much-improved 'The Rock', recently-refurbished with cool design.
I am happy to announce the new owners of The Rock, not only have an expanded, inclusive community vision for their club. They are also enthusiastic about live music and have already featured Chucho and the Latino lads of Las Aguas - now they are embracing The Heard, in our time of need. How fun, for us locals to re-take Hastings Street, celebrating our own scene, with the club all to ourselves for The Heard! Tickets will be available at the door to the public too:)
So, what’s the go?
Sadly, the event will not be accessible to all ages anymore, due to the night club licence of the venue. It will not be BYO Drinks, as it is a licenced bar. PLEASE DO NOT BRING ANY ALCOHOL. The Rock will be providing very affordable drink specials on specific drinks, to make it affordable for all - bypassing Hastings Street prices.
The good news is, you CAN bring your own food into the venue! Bring a picnic basket to the club - why not?! There will also be food options at the Bay Village Food Court, and of course, right along Hastings Street. If you are unable to attend due to these changes, let me know and I will arrange a refund. Do try to come - what FUN we will have! Let us remember, all the great bands found their wings in live music clubs. This could be the start of the next 'Beatles at The Cavern'.

Salt and Steel offer a raw, earthy rock experience, blending psychedelic elements with the grounded essence of rock roots and blues. The couple live full time in their van, ‘the solar powered rehearsal studio’ and have performed at festivals across Australia like Woodford Folk Festival, Party In the Paddock and Airlie Beach Festival of Music. Known for music that is ‘fierce, emotive and genuine,’ Nkechi Anele from Triple J Roots ‘n’ All describes them as a ‘dynamic duo who go from strength to strength, bringing nothing less than power and passion to their music.’
Alex Kosenko is an independent travelling artist from Brisbane and his music can be described as a unique mix of Australian Folk and Blues Rock, accompanied by his inventive electric sound. Alex’s one-man band performances include a thumping kick drum and tambourine, howling harmonica solos, bluesy acoustic-electric guitar and soul driven vocals. Alex’s dynamic live shows are high energy performances that include a mixture of original tunes that leave audiences captivated and wanting more.
From humble beginnings busking on the streets, Alex has performed at many festivals across QLD and NSW such as Bluesfest Byron Bay 2024, Gympie Music Muster 2024, Airlie Beach Festival of Music 2022/2023, Kickass Music Festival 2023, Buskers By The Lake 2023.
Folk rock fusion act, JC & the Tree have a raw yet uplifting sound full of heart and soul. Writing about the mountains to sea and life between, fans describe their music style as intricate yet easy to listen to. This Australian original act blends the lyrical-focused vocals of lead singer Jesse Tree with the soulful tones of Jacinta trained classically on the violin and piano. Performing on guitars handmade by Mr Tree himself, he accompanies with intricate finger picking as their voices blend beautifully in harmony. Pushing boundaries they take their audiences on a journey through genres including gypsy/ spanish violin pieces, folk/metal rock songs, funky wah-wah violin grooves and soulful piano ballads.
JC and the Tree have performed at various well-known festivals such as Woodford folk fest, Caloundra music festival, Palm Creek, Wallaby Creek and Wintermoon.
Day of Embers takes audiences on a journey through genres including folk, singer-Born of love, myth and traditional folklore, a duo of Celtic and global seafaring rhythms interlaced with age-old family tales of love, survival and justice. Combining the multi-instrumental talents of singer-songwriters, Welshman Daryl James, and Dawn, a bewitching vocalist of Canadian, Irish and Indian descent, DoE weaves spectacular harmonies with banjo, mandolin, slide guitar, piano and accordion.
While Daryl and Dawn were born on opposite sides of the globe, their musical roots transcend borders, coming together in a rich tapestry of rousing ballads interwoven with ancestral lore that is inspired by true events. From the cliffs of Derry and mountains of Snowdonia, through battles, storms and treacherous seas, to the wild woods and rocky roads of the Americas, DoE takes the listener on musical adventures that are as lyrically engaging as they are tuneful.
Lovers in life and music, Daryl and Dawn gravitated to one another to process hardship and escape into a wonderland of song with their folk fable characters who face their fears and challenges with brave, open hearts.
Kumradu is a local folky/bluesy story-teller who has developed his sound by diving deep into the waters of traditional folk and roots music. With a deep beauty, he weaves humour, sadness and heart into his melodies, sharing his core passion with the world. His tales express his life journey and also play with themes of fantasy and dreams. His rich tone is carried by honesty and grit. His voice and guitar creates a majestic wholesome experience we can all relate to with a bit of soul searching.
