The Humbuckin’ Pickups Live at The Malmsbury Hotel!

Festival favourites and crowd-pleasers The Humbuckin’ Pickups are hitting the road this summer to celebrate their fourth album, Hope Street. Known for their rich blend of folk, country, and roots, the band combines heart, humour, and razor-sharp storytelling.

At the core of the band are Ewan Cloonan and Mahney Cain, delivering seamless vocal harmonies, driving rhythms, and a magnetic stage presence that has charmed audiences from Woodford to Tamworth. For this special afternoon show, Ewan and Mahney will be joined by guest instrumentalist Ricki Wood.

Opening the afternoon are Golden Guitar winners Wendy Phypers and Dave Patterson. Influenced by old country, western swing, and bluegrass, they bring a unique, heartwarming, and highly entertaining show.

The Humbuckin’ Pickups are a standout Australian roots act blending folk, country, and story driven songwriting with warmth, humour, and undeniable stage chemistry. At the heart of the band are Ewan Cloonan (songwriter, vocals, guitar, banjo, harmonica) and Mahney Cain (vocals, double bass, bones), whose seamless harmonies and driving rhythms have made them favourites at festivals including Woodford, Tamworth, and Gympie Muster. While most often performing as a dynamic duo, they also expand to a trio or full band for select shows, delivering a bigger, fuller sound. Formed in 2013, the band has built a strong reputation for original music grounded in real-life stories of regional Australia. To celebrate the release of their 4th album, Hope Street, they will be hitting the road from December to February for a series of shows throughout the eastern states of Australia.
