The Impact of Racial Difference in Supervision and Management
Event description
This is a 2-day workshop- February 12th and February 13th; Both days will be from 2:00-5:30 PM ET: you must attend both sessions to get CEU'S
In the words of Dr. Kennedy V. Hardy, “The rapidly changing demographics of our society make it virtually mandatory for supervisors and clinicians to develop effective strategies for attending to issues of diversity throughout all domains of the clinical process. Even when the desire and commitment to be more culturally attuned are clear, possessing the “know how” to achieve such a lofty and often difficult undertaking leaves many supervisors in a quandary.”
This two part experiential and interactive workshop is designed to provide examples, support and practice in facilitating difficult conversations across differences in supervision. A majority of this workshop will be focused on unpacking and exploring racial identity so that participants are more aware of their triggers, biases and blind spots. We will introduce tools to help create more impactful and authentic supervisory relationships. Our workshop is designed to help participants to understand and interrogate the ways in which their racial identities impact they’re relationships with clients and colleagues so that they can build skills for practicing and promoting cultural sensitivity.
Six continuing educational credits will be offered for this workshop and provided by MPG CONSULTING
Attendees must participate in both session to receive CE’s
