• What can I expect on the opening night?

  A Red-carpet celebration.

  Welcoming our Guest of Honour Waheeda Rehman with a special welcome Powhiri, in attendance Anurag Kashyap, and producers, directors, actors, who are presenting their films at the festival. Dignitaries and guests from NZ.

  The screening of the movie Teesri Kasam, with Waheeda Rehman and Raj Kapoor as leading stars of the film.

• What's included in my festival badge for Auckland?

  Your festival badge gives you access to the VIP lounge area where the plenary sessions (six), networking, in conversations with the filmmakers & networking hour with F&B will be hosted for all 3 days.

• How do I get tickets to the films?

  For Auckland and Christchurch Tickets to the films will be available on Hoyts website booking system.

  For Wellington, tickets to the films will be available on Humanitix.

• What should I wear for the film festival?

  Dress as comfortable as you like. Or perhaps come dressed as your favourite film character!

  Remember there will be a photo booth on location so if you want to capture some cool pics to share online be creative - it is an Indian film festival after all.

  Opening and Closing Night is the best time to wear those sparkly outfits!

  We are celebrating Pakeezah on the closing night - The film’s costumes are famously opulent, rich Anarkalis, gold embroidery, jewel tones, elaborate jewellery and dramatic dupattas. Ladies it your time to shine, and gentlemen it's your time to escort them down the red carpet!

• How do I know the schedule of the films?

  The schedule of films will be released on the TIFFNZ website as we work out what time which film will be screened in the cinemas

  This is for all 3 cities.

• Can I book the tickets a day before the screening?

  Yes, if they are not sold out, tickets will be available on Hoyts booking website.

• What can I expect on the closing night?

  If you are a festival badge holder you will be invited to the VIP drinks. We call this a wrap party.

• Are children allowed to the film festival?

  TIFFNZ is a family-friendly festival celebrating Indian cinema across generations. Children and families are welcome to attend, subject to the age classification of each individual film. Please check the classification and content information when booking.

  For the plenary sessions workshops, masterclasses, in conversations No children are allowed.

• Does the festival badge give me access to the films?

  The festival badge gives you access to the VIP networking lounge where all plenary sessions will take place. For tickets to the festival films you will need to purchase it on the Hoyts booking website.
