The Jester Guild Online Stand-Up Comedy Course
Event description
Calling all funny folk!
Comedian and event producer Anna Brennan is running The Jester Guild, her crash course in stand-up comedy, via Zoom again this January. Over six online sessions students will learn different methods of writing material, as well as performance tips. They will hone their skills into a five minute stand-up comedy set which they will be invited to perform (Covid restrictions and geography permitting).
Here's what some past students have to say about the course:
"A comprehensive and supportive crash course on the ins and outs of stand-up comedy for beginners, Anna Brennan is a dynamo 5/5 chocolate covered pretzels." Brendon Beltrame, Gympie.
"Anna's course was a great intro to the art of stand-up comedy, and a reminder of why I love this weird, impossible, rewarding, beast. There was a great mix of theory and practice, and the opportunity to meet other people involved in the Queensland comedy scene was a great bonus." Jodie Van De Wetering, Rockhampton.
"My favourite bit was sharing our ideas and getting the feedback. I thought it was cool we had a supportive group and it was interesting to hear everyone’s ideas on the same topic. I’m just really glad I did it and had a great time." Ryan Anderson, Eumundi.
