The Junction - July 25
Event description
About the Junction
The Junction was started in 2024 by Beth Scott, Principal Consultant of Quality Service Improvement. The Junction offers an opportunity for cross pollination of knowledge and skills of business owners and leaders. There is a small core group of people that have been attending for all or most of the journey so far and have assisted in strengthening the experience along the way. There are always new faces that come along each meet up too. We're passionate about supporting local businesses and recognising the importance of getting out of your own space and learning what's happening in the world around us, we find solutions for our clients in all sorts of places.
In recognition of the need of cross industry, less engineered opportunities to catch up, support and discuss challenges and ideas we met 4 times last year at venues across Brunswick in 2024. As owners and leaders there is great value in getting together to connect, exchange, collaborate and celebrate in a relaxed setting. The meet ups are casual Friday afternoon gatherings designed to build connections, exchange ideas, celebrate wins and support local venues. It's about people and getting together to create genuine connections.
Whilst we host near our business in Brunswick, it is not limited to business owners and leaders in our area. We welcome people from everywhere to join us.
About Julys event
July's meet up, in response to popular demand from participants at the last session, we have lined up Scott Assender to be our guest speaker. We will be hosting this event at his venue Welcome to Brunswick.
Scott has opened and run 46 hospitality businesses and 10 food trucks over the past 35 years across 3 countries. He's employed over 7, 500 people and some are still working with him 20 years later. Scott will share his journey, including the challenges, learnings and innovations along the way.
There will be an opportunity to hear about Scotts journey, ask questions, discuss key themes in small groups and then informal mingling and networking with the dynamic talented group who span across a huge variety of industries.
What to expect
The Junction is a relatively informal event and varies in program. Each meet up includes networking, set discussions focussed on business ideas and evolution. We end the year with a Christmas lunch, that includes a fun eco friendly gift swap - with a twist!
You can come along once or each time. Tickets are available through our promotion link for each event. Join The Junction mailing list and you'll receive the event information each quarter.

A light afternoon tea will be provided at this event, including two drink vouchers per participant. Additional drinks and food can be purchased at the bar. Please advise the host if you have allergies and we will do our best to cater for you.
PLEASE NOTE: We are passionate about supporting hospo venues and locally owned businesses. To allow these events to run successfully we seek appropriate, accessible venues and pre pay the venue. There are strictly no refunds for inability to attend on the day. Please share your ticket with a likeminded friend or colleague to join the discussions and the laughs.
