Event description

Forces beyond our control have made it near impossible to run our main festival at the moment. But does that mean we can't gather and have an amazing time and raise money for Jungle Love so that it can come back in 2025? Hell no!

So here's the deal, and you've got to pay attention to this because if you're not down with what this event is about and doing your bit then you'll be doing it all wrong. So please read on.

This isn't Jungle Love Festival. It's a camping trip, with some of the amazing people that make our festival so special, and hopefully some newcomers that fit right in. Whilst we can't afford the full production of a Jungle Love in this current climate, we do happen to have quite a bit of gear to run really cool performance spaces, and whatever we don't have we know there are people in the community that do have. We also just so happen to know that in amongst our community that there is a plethora of talent everywhere. We'll provide the space. If you've got something you want to share with people, the stage is yours.

The way to make this camping trip more special than any other camping trip is we all must agree to CONTRIBUTE something. Anything at all. No matter how big or how small. You need to come with the intention to bring something to the experience. It doesn't have to be for everyone, it could be just for a special few people you meet. It could be a performance, you could gift your time working in the crew, you could bring treats to give to strangers, give a talk, provide equipment, bring some decor, give out palm readings, come up with a flashmob with you and your crew, give out watermelon, give some people a rub on the head with one of those orgasmatron things (with consent always). You get the idea, you can do anything, and if we all do something we're going to have one hell of a time.

We are  taking applications for Theme Camps currently. Have you got some wild idea that you want to bring to fruition that would be totally fun for strangers to experience? Don't worry if you don't have all of the resources you need, let us know your ideas and if we love it and can help make it happen, we will.
Theme Camp Applications can be found HERE. Please note, we will be increasing the number of theme camps that include sound systems as numbers grow.
(update: we are no longer taking theme camp applications)

Running a theme camp is a big deal, and perhaps too much commitment for you if this is your first time.

As we've said, there are infinite ways you could contribute to the vibe. If you've got some skills, talents or just are generally ready and available to help out with whatever needs there are, please register what you think you could offer HERE. It is optional to fill out, but it might help everyone out if we have a better idea of practical positions people could fill, or who could potentially collaborate together.

If you are a DJ, musician or a group of musicians, and you'd like to perform, there is a rule that the only amplified music allowed on site must be performed in official theme camps and not renegades. This is to ensure comfort of all campers and that we don't have 50 camps with amplified music playing at once.

We will be setting up our beloved Jambala stage with it's full decadence. This will be our own offering to the Camp Out. We may have a few secret performances that we'll have up our sleeve, and it'll act as a jam space, but it will also act as a performance stage and a forum. We will be able to have full bands performing in the round and we'll have a full backline and production. If you're ready to perform and there are slots available, we'll give you a chance to perform. We won't be booking anyone in however, just turn up ready.
We've already had an influx of acts expressing a willingness to perform so spots on Jambala may be very limited, but we'll do our best to accommodate and we may even set up another live performance space.

There may also be other opportunities to perform at other theme camps depending on which camps come on board and what they provide. We will reveal these via email announcements in due time.

We're doing this Camp Out for a few reasons.

1. We get that the expense of a festival is just really hard for most people at this time. So we've made a really affordable amazing weekend away.
2. It's a chance to raise money for Jungle Love and bring it back in 2025.
3. It's a great opportunity to let everyone have a chance to shine and do something they never thought they'd get a chance to do.
4. It's a great opportunity to get our community more involved and attract people into our orbit that will help us bring the festival back with shining colours.

You must also know that this is a fully LEAVE NO TRACE event.
This time, not in a poetic sense, if you don't take what mess you made home with you, then no one does.
There won't be a recycling team at this one. There won't be any bins. It's a camping trip. Everything that comes with you goes home with you.
We'll provide toilets, coin-operated showers, and drinking water, the rest is up to you and your crew to sort. But come as self-sufficiently as you possibly can.

Remember, it only works if we all participate in some way.
