The Ki of Partnered Sexual Power Dynamics
Event description
This is a five session course taught by Anne O Nomis (aka Leonora Anne Weston), the elusive author of "The History & Arts of the Dominatrix", Host and Facilitator of the Inanna Retreat and more recently creator and teacher of The Ki power dynamics.
Anne (she / her) is well-known within Melbourne and Internationally for her acclaimed book and her Dominatrix Seven Realm Arts certificate course which has had more than 400 students graduate from around the world. She holds a Masters degree in Comparative art and archaeology from UCL (University College London), and spent 15 years researching centuries of historical and modern craft tradition of Dominance, sexuality, psychology, language and practices. She wrote her first book on The History & Arts of the Dominatrix in 2014, and has appeared as the Dominance Studies expert on Sky TV's Sex: A Bonkers History with UK celebrity Amanda Holden recreating the Victorian flagellation salon of Theresa Berkley at the Freud Museum London. She is the youngest and only Australian member of the Leather Hall of Fame Committee, alongside community legends and leading academics in the field, including Bob Miller, Gayle Rubin, Viola Johnson, Guy Baldwin, Robert Bienvenu and others.
She has taught at ASS Fest, DomCon NOLA (New Orleans, USA), Oz Kink Fest, given private talks at the Freud Museum London and been keynote at the Postgraduate UK Society of Aesthetics at Kent University and CARAS Conference Los Angeles.
The Ki Power dynamics is the culmination of her 15 years of her work, and will be of great interest to those interested in sexuality, erotic power dynamics, kink, mind-body knowledge and practices, somatic embodiment and roleplay.
ABOUT THE COURSE
The course combines theory, practice and somatic embodiment of partnered dynamics, taught over five 4.5 hour sessions (1 Saturday and 2 weekends).
It is content-rich, inspirational, fun and expansive.
It is also possible that vulnerabilities will come up, and it encourages positive communication, partner check-in, personal responsibility, processing, aftercare and debriefing.
The course requires and supports positive communication and consent. The major consent models used will be the FRIES Consent model (Freely-given, Reversible, Informed, Enthusiastic, Specific consent), alongside the BDSM models of SSC (Safe, Sane and Consensual), RACK (Risk-Aware Consensual Kink) and PRICK (Personal-Responsibility Informed Consensual Kink).
The course is for Adults Only (over the age of 18). Enrolees take on personal responsibility and liability for their own play scenes.
The course is designed with partnered activities - however solo attendees are welcomed and encouraged to reach out to Anne via email to discuss their needs and potential partnerings.
Each class will involve Anne teaching the theory and knowledge of each Ki activation and complimentary counterpart dynamic, and followed by partnered somatic embodied play with prior consent negotiation. Lunch break on the 11am sessions is from 1-2 pm, with attendees asked to be back in class at 1.50 pm ready to resume after lunch at 2 pm on the dot. There will be a 30 minute break on the Saturday 9th November session from 4:30pm-5:00pm
*Update 4/11/2024 - To improve accessibility to the course we have made individual session tickets available. Please note that the course has been constructed to be experienced as a whole, and single classes may not contain all the context to be able to understand fully the techniques and knowledge contained within; however there is still much to be gained from single session attendence!
