The Last Daughter Film Screening
Event description
Join us for a FREE screening of the award-winning documentary film, The Last Daughter, which explores the story of Brenda Matthews, a member of the Stolen Generation who goes in search of her white foster family. On her journey, Brenda uncovers secrets about her Aboriginal roots and the trauma of being separated from both families.
Bringing together both sides of Brenda’s past, The Last Daughter is a powerful film that shines a light on the devastating impact of the practice of removing Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander children from their families, but also the remarkable capacity for humans to love and help each other to heal.
Following the screening there will be a Q&A session with film maker, writer and storey teller, Brenda Matthews.
Be a part of this inspiring, immersive and rarely told story of love, loss and reconnection.
