The Learning Room
The Learning Room is a learning initiative by the Women of Colour Skill Collective, created for women of colour, migrant women, and culturally and racially diverse women who are seeking practical, accessible, and meaningful opportunities to grow.
This series has been designed in response to a clear need: spaces where learning feels grounded, relevant, and easy to apply in real life. Each session is intentionally structured to be welcoming and supportive, while still offering depth, clarity, and practical tools you can take forward with confidence.
Across a series of interactive workshops and a closing community event, participants will learn directly from experienced facilitators, build hands-on skills, and connect with like-minded women in a space that centres care, curiosity, and shared experience.
Whether you're looking to strengthen your confidence, explore new ideas, develop practical skills, or simply be in a room with other women on a similar path, The Learning Room offers a space to do so at your own pace.
Sessions can be booked individually or as a full series.

Digital Pottery with Lavinia K | 12th August | 6.00 - 7.30 PM ACST
Lavinia is the founder of Good Humans Digital, focused on making technology and AI feel more human, accessible, practical and less intimidating. Digital Pottery is a hands on creative workshop exploring how to bring your ideas to life using simple digital tools. Whether you've been thinking about starting a website, creating content, building a personal brand, or simply becoming more confident online, this session will give you practical skills to get started. No technical experience required.
Conscious Entrpreneurship with Monica Garcia Rivas | 19th August | 6.00 - 7.30 PM ACST
Monica is the founder of Latino Entrpreneurs Adelaide and a key focus of her work has been helping purpose driven founders create business that reflect their values and foster healthy cultures. This session explores entrepreneurship through a values led lens, encouraging participants to think beyond profit and focus on purpose, sustainability, community, and creating work that genuinely reflects who they are. Perfect for business owners, creatives, side hustlers, or anyone exploring an idea of their own.
Financial Literacy with Harpinder Chipra | 16th September | 6.00 - 7.00 PM ACST
Founder of YourWellth and a migrant himself, Harpinder Chipra is a financial adviser with over 14 years of experience helping professionals and families take control of their money, reduce financial stress and build a life they love. Financial confidence is one of the most valuable skills we can invest in. Designed to be practical, approachable, and jargon free, this workshop will explore everyday financial topics including budgeting, financial wellbeing, planning ahead, and building confidence to make informed financial decisions. Whether you're just getting started or looking to strengthen your knowledge, this session is designed to meet you where you are.
Your Rights at Work with Working Women's Centre SA | 30th September | 6.00 - 7.30 PM ACST
The Working Women’s Centre SA Inc (WWC SA) is a non-government organisation that provides free and confidential legal advice, information, support and representation. This workshop will focus on your legal rights in the workplace: what you should be paid, your right to safety and what to do if you're not being treated fairly. We'll also talk about harassment and discrimination, for example if you're treated unfairly based on your gender or race. If you are new to Australian workplace environments, or want to build more awareness around your legal rights, join Emma Ashley, Education and Training Officer, WWC SA as we build our knowledge, confidence, and information base.
