Monthly Social for Lawyers and Legals
Event description
About the Event
Looking to expand your social circle within the legal community?
Sick of forming short-term and casual connections in professional networking events?
Join us for an engaging social hour designed for legal professionals and graduates to connect and build lasting friendships
With an intimate group of 3 to 15 like-minded legal eagles, the night runs from 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm. This small-scale gathering ensures you can form genuine bonds over mouthwatering food and drinks.
Many professionals become socially disconnected with their peers after finishing uni or once they start working full-time (even as a grad). The legal profession is notorious for its commitment for long hours and many tend to lose themselves over time. The solution for many of us to reconnect or maintain a social life, is by attending networking events but there is always a sense of extreme formality for a connection we may forget in the next hour. The system always starts with "what do you do?" or "where do you work?" and ends with "Let's connect on Linkedin." But that's where the connection ends, and eventually the memory of ever meeting or speaking with that 'Connection' fades.
The Legal Mixer is aimed at bringing in like-minded people, fostering long-lasting friendships - More than a Linkedin Connection.
What You’ll Gain:
- Delicious food for the table
- Your 1st drink to start the night (ticket includes 1 drink only)
- Goodie bags or a Lucky Draw, pending availability and sponsor
- Authentic connection with peers in a relaxing environment
- Opportunities for meaningful conversations
Who is this for:
This event is for lawyers, solicitors, barristers, law graduates and students who are interested in making friends in Sydney.
About the Host
My name is Jennie and I'm a Corporate Lawyer based in Sydney. After graduating, I found it difficult to stay connected with my law school friends due to everyone's hectic schedules. Despite attending numerous networking events to make more friends, I often found the atmosphere too professional and formal. However, I’ve still met many wonderful people in the industry who have become some of my closest friends, and I realized many share the same sense of disconnection. I’m organizing this event for those who, like me, are looking to form genuine friendships beyond LinkedIn connections. As featured on Lawyers Weekly. Read Lawyers Weekly.
