'The Life & Rhymes of Banjo Paterson' (Gregory North) @ Humph Hall
Event description
Australia's most famous poet, Banjo Paterson, presented lectures in Sydney's Centenary Hall (no longer existing) on the Boer War on 21, 22, 24 and 26 September 1900. As a professional performance poet, Gregory North is re-enacting Banjo's lecture tour to around 40 towns across four states including Sydney on the 125th anniversary of his presentations.
Rather than discussion of the Boer War, his presentation will be an entertainment show: The Life and Rhymes of Banjo Paterson. He has been doing similar shows for the last 9 years in Winton, Queensland, where Banjo wrote "Waltzing Matilda".
The show incorporates visuals as well as recitations of several of his popular poems along with history of his fascinating life.
Something very special & different!
