Event description

The Marais Project, with special guest tenor Koen van Stade, presents a rare concert of some of the finest Elizabethan-era songs.

On the program is a selection from ‘A Pilgrime's Solace’, by famed composer/lutenist John Dowland, as well as John Danyel’s (1564 - 1626) funeral tears. Despite dying almost 400 years ago, Dowland is still celebrated as an extraordinary song composer and lutenist. His moving explorations of love and melancholy have continued to entrance audiences and musicians alike.

The performance takes place in the intimate surroundings of Choirs Rehearsal Studio at Walsh Bay Arts Precinct. Artists: Koen van Stade, tenor; Tommie Andersson, lute; Jenny Eriksson, viola da gamba
