🐭🧀 Why do we eat yellow cheese?
Find out in The Mice War, David Chesky’s delightfully absurd opera for kids, presented by Orchestra Miami!
In this funny and thought-provoking musical adventure, the industrious Blue Mice live in the North and the laid-back Red Mice live on an island far to the south. When the Blue Mice decide they need to make more money, they decide to start a war—but what could possibly be the reason?
Cheese! The Blue Mice eat pink cheese, while the Red Mice eat yellow cheese. And what if the Red Mice came along and made the Blue Mice eat yellow cheese?
With humor, music, and plenty of mice-sized mischief, The Mice War introduces young audiences to classical music while exploring the absurdity of war, the importance of acceptance, and the beauty of cultural diversity.
Featuring three professional singers and eight professional musicians from Orchestra Miami, this engaging performance runs approximately 50 minutes and is perfect for children ages 3 and up.
🎶 Come for the cheese. Stay for the music—and leave with something to think about!
