The Microforest Collective: Official Launch
Event description
Join us to celebrate the launch of The Microforest Collective: a new not-for-profit organisation established to support community leaders to create microforests in their suburbs. The Microforest Collective will help more people transform under-utilised green space into thriving local hubs - strengthening community, cooling the climate and reconnecting people to nature.
This launch is a fun event for the whole family in the picturesque Watson Micro-forest featuring live music including from Canberra music legend Pete Cashew as well as food trucks, artist stalls, and more. Tickets are free! Please consider donating to help cover costs. All proceeds go to The Microforest Collective.
Proudly brought to you by microforest makers and The Microforest Collective founders: Edwina Robinson, Mitch Porteous, Liz Adcock, and Purdie Bowden
More about The Microforest Collective
Inspired and guided by The Climate Factory's Edwina Robinson, local community leaders have raised $131,000 to create 5 micro-forests between 2019-2023. These successful pilots have established urban oases in local parks across Canberra, Queanbeyan and Moruya. The Microforest Collective will scale this approach, supporting more people to create more climate-cooling microforests across Australia.
