The Mix: Portland
Event description
Calling all Portland artists, filmmakers, venues, promoters, artist managers, educators and others involved in music and the arts.
Don’t miss The Mix hosted by MusicNSW Regional Coordinator Sophie Jones on Wiradjuri country.
Join us at The Annexe at The Foundations Portland on Wednesday, 8 October for a watching party and industry mixer, where you'll get the chance to connect, chat, and meet others in your local music scene. You can also learn about opportunities coming up and how MusicNSW can support you.
Want to share music videos, short films or other music-related video content that you’ve created/been working on and speak to its process? Select the ‘submission’ ticket type at the checkout, attach a link (YouTube, Google Drive, Dropbox etc.) and we’ll play it during the watching party portion of the night.
Please ensure your media is appropriate for all audiences, that it is suitable to the purpose of the night and that you are comfortable having it played in front of others. We encourage a safe space, and ask all attendees to be respectful, kind and courteous during the watching party. Only 20 submission slots are available, so get in quick!
Afterwards, we will be previewing excerpts of the music documentary ‘The Most Australian Band Ever!’, which follows the journey of 80s Western Sydney punk band The Hard On’s. Director Jonathan Sequeira from Living Eyes will be on sight to share a few words and offer feedback on the clips shown at the watching party, as well as show some trailers of the doco.
Food from Blue Fox will be provided with drinks sponsored by local media Village Voice. For access enquiries, you can contact Sophie Jones at sophie@musicnsw.com.
