From The Story Teller.... Leon Cossar

The stories contained within the Celtic mythological tradition are primordial dream fires singing across the ancestral seas like chords of deep music.

Many years ago, Irish Poet Seamus Heaney lamented that the ears (and hearts) of the west had fallen out of tune with myth. In other words, we could no longer hear The music of what happened and the dream fires were going out: culture was adrift in a sea of amnesia.

These are undoubtedly initiatory times. If we are going to take up the serious business of culture making again, then it is essential to revivify the geography of our minds with an ecology of stories threading us to the deep beauty of humanity.

The stories and poetry in the Celtic tradition are some of the most beautiful pathways we can take toward such miraculous, and remarkable endeavours. They remind us of an old way of living and loving and the necessity for heart-break, loss and grief if we're to live sincerely. In the arms of these stories, we meet these initiatory markings not as personal inflictions, but as the necessary scarifications a human being must encounter on the way to becoming fully human.

To hear the deep goodness in these stories, to lean into their genius and make an altar for them in our hearts is to tune our ears and hear once more, what the Irish call The Music of What Happened.

Great thought and consideration has gone into creating an evening rich with Celtic tradition, not only will we be immersed in stories from the Celtic mythological tradition, we will enjoy toe-tapping Irish music from Irish band, Munsterbucks, as well as feasting on Irish stew and bread (Beef and Vegitarian options will be available, and is included in the price of the ticket!!!)as we say 'Slainte' and raise a glass to our ancestors with delectable drinks from our favourite Celtic-bespoke, small batch spirits crafters, with distinctive native botanicals, Beechmountain Distillery!

There will be a fire to share our own stories, and all manner of good cheer.

There are a limited number of early bird tickets available so get in quick to secure your spot.
