Join Green Adelaide flora ecologist Rhys Morgan, and Nature Festival's Resident Seed Steward Mitchell Livingston, for a fascinating talk exploring the incredible world of seeds. Whether you're a bushcare volunteer, home gardener, budding ecologist or simply curious about the natural world, you'll gain a deeper appreciation of the science and wonder behind these tiny ecological powerhouses, with a particular look at some of the local native seed species of the region.

Rhys Morgan completed an Honours degree at the University of Adelaide, where he researched the impacts of climate change on Australian vegetation communities. He has extensive experience in threatened species conservation, with a particular focus on the unique flora of the Mount Lofty Ranges. As Flora Ecologist with Green Adelaide, Rhys works to conserve, restore and promote native plants across urban Adelaide. He is also an active volunteer with the Threatened Plant Action Group, contributing to the protection and recovery of South Australia's threatened plant species. Rhys enjoys helping others discover the fascinating world of native plants and the vital role they play in healthy ecosystems.

Mitchell Livingston, Seedbank Manager at Trees For Life, is a passionate seed collector/banker, sourcing critical seeds for the restoration of South Australia’s ecosystems. His seed-collecting experience spans a wide range of environments, particularly semi-arid areas, and now takes him across South Australia. He has a keen interest in developing sustainable seed collection practices and advocating for the essential role seed plays in habitat restoration. Stubbornly optimistic, Mitchell believes in Trees For Life’s mission to empower people to connect with their landscape and create habitat.
