The Nerd (by Larry Shue)
Event description
The Nerd by Larry Shue
Aspiring architect Willum Cubbert has often told his friends about the debt he owes to Rick Steadman, whom he has never met, but was saved by, after he was seriously wounded in Vietnam. Willum is thrilled when Rick shows up unexpectedly for his 39th birthday, but his delight quickly fades as Rick is a hopeless nerd – a bumbling idiot with no social sense, little emotional intelligence, and even less tact. Rick moves in and stays on and on, his continued presence among Willum and his friends creates unimaged chaos, until the normally placid Willum can no longer take it and he and his friends devise an insane plan to finally get Rick to leave.
Don’t miss this hilarious farce that ran on Broadway for 441 performances and went on to be performed the world over.
