Description
Everyone brings their nervous system to work.
The demands of modern life - news, emails, meetings, deadlines, changing and competing priorities - constantly influence our nervous system, shaping how we think, communicate and respond, often before we're even aware of it.
This engaging 60-minute, Polyvagal-informed session introduces the science of the nervous system in a practical and accessible way. You'll gain a deeper understanding of why we all react the way we do under pressure and learn simple techniques to recognise stress early, regulate your own stress responses and respond with greater awareness and choice.
This isn't about fixing people or expecting everyone to stay calm all the time.
It's about understanding the automatic ways our nervous systems work, so we can move from reacting on autopilot to responding with greater clarity and intention. When we understand ourselves - and each other - better, we can create healthier relationships, stronger teams and workplaces where creativity, sound judgement and collaboration can thrive.
Blending evidence-based science with practical experience, this session offers tools you can begin applying immediately. Whether you're leading others, working within a team or simply curious about how stress shapes behaviour, you'll leave with insights that are both deeply human and grounded in science.
In this session, you'll:
Understand the foundations of Polyvagal Theory and the physiology of stress
Recognise the early signs of dysregulation
Learn practical regulation techniques you can use immediately
Begin noticing how nervous system states influence communication, decision making and everyday interactions at work and home
