THE NEXT STEP FOR EMISSIONS CLAIMS
Description
The Next Steps for Emissions Claims: What Credible Net Zero Claims Require
The first in CRI’s series of free workshops and seminars is for organisations making, reviewing or considering emissions claims. Whether you hold Climate Active certification, make another voluntary emissions claim, or have committed to a future target such as net zero by 2040, this workshop will help you understand what is needed to support your claim.
We will explore where historical claims have fallen short, what a credible carbon neutral or net zero claim requires, and how organisations can strengthen the carbon accounting, action plans and disclosures that support their claims in an evolving regulatory environment. The session will introduce the open-source NoCO2 Net Zero Standard and explain how it helps organisations put these requirements into practice.
Topics will include:
A GHG Protocol refresher: understanding the purpose of your emissions inventory.
The ACCC’s new guidance on emissions claims.
Where past claims have fallen short and what credible net zero claims require.
How the open-source NoCO2 Net Zero Standard addresses these requirements.
Practical steps to strengthen your emissions claims and take meaningful action on climate change.
The workshop will run for approximately one hour, followed by 30 minutes of open discussion and questions.
