Join us for the official launch of The Night Sky exhibition at Landsborough Museum and discover the beauty, wonder and importance of our night skies.
Explore celestial objects and stunning imagery that reveal humanity's enduring connection to the stars and the increasingly important role of protecting dark skies for future generations. Learn how darkness shapes our natural world, influences wildlife and wellbeing, and inspires curiosity, exploration and storytelling.
Special guest Dr Ken Wishaw, advocate for the Sunshine Coast's Dark Sky Reserve and passionate night sky photographer, will share insights into dark skies, light pollution and the impact of artificial light on human health. Discover simple actions we can all take to protect our night skies and reconnect with the wonders above us.
Families can enjoy hands-on stargazing-themed craft activities and pick up a free Night Sky activity book to continue their cosmic adventure as they explore the exhibition.
