Pink Nose Revolution Charity Donation PINK NOSE REVOLUTION
Gender-Based Violence (GBV) & Inequality is finally into the public consciousness as an issue bedevilling virtually every society and community in the world.
The Pink Nose Revolution is a movement that originated in PNG. It initially began with the Founder & President of the Surfing Association of PNG, Andy Abel, painting the front portion of donated surfboards pink, to designate that such boards were for use by female surfers. That initiative was wildly successful & the concept attracted the attention, empathy and support from a host of world surfing superstars. Founder Andy, and inspirational and leading change advocate, Ms Sylvia Pascoe, expanded the scope of the Pink Nose Revolution to include other sports. All in the pursuit of educating the young and reforming the old attitudes towards GBV & Inequality. They created a registered PNG charity called Sports in PNG.
The movement has spread to Australia. The mission of Pink Nose Revolution Australia (in the process of becoming a registered charity) is to fundamentally change society and the nation, showcase role models for both women and men and become an additional aspirational model and platform for change on the global stage in a world where the GBV & Inequality malaise knows no borders or boundaries. The charity will raise funds & use those funds to provide all sorts of sporting equipment to grass-roots sporting bodies who adopt the Pink Nose Revolution Code of Conduct. Thereby initiating conversations that will lead to generational change in attitudes & behaviours to GBV & Inequality.
Your participation in the Noosa Festival of Surfing 2025: Pre-Festival Gala Community Evening is the first step in a long journey that must be undertaken. A portion of the funds raised from the Gala Community Evening will go towards The Pink Nose Revolution Australia charity.
